Group Sustainability & Legal Director

As Group Sustainability & Legal Director, Vanessa brings legal experience along with a leadership approach that allows her to look at the broader system of how legal services connects with a wider range of business goals. 

Vanessa’s aim is to connect corporate governance with leadership and to create sustainable relationships (internally & externally) where financial and operational processes, market trends and new opportunities are aligned to facilitate good and sustainable decision making within our company.   

Vanessa started in 2005 as a lawyer at the Belgian bar and then quickly decided to switch to the business side where she worked as a legal interim manager for many years, serving several SME and larger cooperation’s (including IT & telecom service providers such as Telindus, Belgacom, Orange) in the wide range of business law. 

Prior to joining team.blue, Vanessa was general counsel of an international helicopter services company where she led corporate transactions from A to Z and built a solid team coordinating almost every legal transaction in-house, managing risks throughout the value chain, implementing legal awareness campaigns, and acting as sound advisor in key business (development) initiatives. Vanessa was also the driver of several cultural and ESG initiatives globally, to create a positive impact for the company in a challenging industry. 

Vanessa holds a Master’s degree in law from the University of Ghent and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) obtained at Vlerick Business School.
