Punktum.dk changed how .dk domains get registered, and Simply.com, part of the team.blue ecosystem, stepped in as the reseller handling it. Discover .dk reseller management at Simply.com →
What's new
From 1 July 2026, new .dk domains can only be registered through a reseller, and Simply.com is a certified registrar directly with Punktum.dk. Businesses can bring their domains under Simply.com's management without changing name servers, without touching DNS, and without a single second of downtime. The switch is free, whether it's one domain or a few thousand.
Built for scale, not just single domains
For businesses holding more than a handful of domains, the migration is designed to be one workflow, not one domain at a time:
- Bulk transfer. Switch reseller for many domains at once, from the control panel or via the API.
- One control panel. See every .dk domain's expiry date, name servers, and DNSSEC status in a single place.
- Automatic renewal. Domains renew on their own, removing the risk of losing one to a missed deadline.
What's under the hood
The more significant part sits in what Simply.com opened up for developers alongside the reseller switch. Once a .dk domain is under its management, it can be controlled entirely through Simply.com's HTTP API:
- DNS records, with full create, read, update, and delete access through a REST API
- Name servers and DNSSEC, changed or toggled programmatically
- ACME support, automating Let's Encrypt and other ACME clients through a DNS-01 challenge, wildcard certificates included
- An MCP server, letting AI agents manage domains and DNS directly, at mcp.simply.com/v2
Why it matters
Domain and DNS management has typically meant someone logging into a dashboard by hand, for every record, every renewal, every certificate. Exposing that as an API, with an MCP server on top, means agencies and larger customers can fold .dk domain management straight into their own tooling, or hand it to an AI agent entirely.
Two dates to know
Punktum.dk is rolling this out in two steps: from 1 July 2026, new .dk domains must go through a reseller. By 30 June 2028 at the latest, every existing .dk domain must have one too.
Getting started
Moving a domain to Simply.com takes a couple of minutes: an authorisation code from Punktum.dk is the only thing needed, and Simply.com handles the rest of the transfer.
