What's new
SimplyBook.me now connects to Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI assistant a business already uses. Once it's linked, running the booking system becomes a conversation: "Show me tomorrow's schedule", "Book Jane for a haircut Friday at 3 with Anna", "Which clients still owe money?"
The connection uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open standard that lets AI assistants talk directly to other apps. Any MCP capable assistant, including Claude, Cursor, or a custom GPT, can connect straight to a SimplyBook.me account.
What businesses can ask for
There's nothing to learn, no commands to memorise. Businesses simply describe what they want, and the assistant works out the rest:
- Bookings. See the schedule, find free slots, create, move, reschedule, edit, or cancel appointments, and get them summarised in plain language.
- Clients. Look up anyone by name, email, or phone, see their full booking history, and add or update records.
- Services and providers. Add or edit services and providers, and adjust working hours, days off, and special day overrides.
- Locations and categories. Manage business locations and organise the service menu.
- Money and reports. Check invoices, sales and tax summaries, and see which clients have an outstanding balance.
- Settings and help. Update company info, turn features on or off, or get help centre answers.
Staying in control
The assistant can only do what the account connecting it is allowed to do. If a role can't delete bookings in the admin panel, it can't delete them through the assistant either. Nothing connects without a business signing in and approving it, and the connection can be switched off at any time, from either side, without touching any existing bookings, clients, or settings.
Built in, or bring your own
Businesses that would rather not connect an external assistant can use Ask Simply instead, the AI scheduling assistant built directly into the SimplyBook.me admin. Both options run on the same underlying assistant, so the capabilities are identical either way.
Getting started
Connecting an assistant takes a few minutes: turn on the MCP feature in the admin panel, copy the connector URL, add it as a custom connector in Claude or another supported tool, and approve access. From there, it's ready to use in the chat.
