Evolving for Impact: team.blue's 2025-26 Impact Report

team.blue, the pan-European digital partner for small and medium businesses operating in 23 countries, published its 2025-26 Impact Report under blue.shift, its programme to make online business success sustainable, inclusive and trusted. Headline results include a 47% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions against team.blue's 2022 baseline, a data centre migration in Türkiye to a fully renewable-powered facility, 88% of hosting brands verified by the Green Web Foundation, a Board that already meets its 2030 diversity target, and even more recent news that local B Corp certification in the UK and Ireland has been obtained.

Reporting is not the goal. Impact is. That distinction shaped how we approached this year — our fifth year of reporting, and the first in which we deliberately moved effort out of the spreadsheet and into local action.

This has been a year of pace. We have witnessed the extraordinary integration of AI across lives and businesses, sparking an exciting increase of pace as we evolve our ecosystem. Our family of brands continued to grow with the addition of Macaly, B2BRouter, Shoptet and Windsor.ai, each adding a unique layer of expertise and opportunity to the collective vision. Growth has to be purposeful, which is why blue.shift, our programme to make online business success sustainable, inclusive and trusted, stays built on three pillars: Sustainable tech, Digital inclusion and Digital trust.

What changed this year is how we deliver it. Through our Impact-as-a-Service model, we are bringing sustainability closer to the people who can act on it: our colleagues on the ground, our customers and our local stakeholders. Group sets the framework, the tools and the targets; brands own the execution.

Sustainable Tech: emissions, renewable energy and hosting

Calculating our Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon footprint is central to blue.shift. It gives us the data we need to track our decarbonisation progress year on year, and it shows us where carbon and energy cost come out of the business together

  • Cutting emissions: against the 2022 baseline, our Scope 1 & 2 are down 47%, driven by the continued transition to electric vehicles, switching data centres to renewable energy and consolidating office locations. Scope 3 is down 25% in absolute terms and 68% in intensity against the same baseline, - a real achievement for a group growing as fast as we are.
  • Powered by renewables: in January 2026, we closed our own data centre in Türkiye and moved to a facility running fully on renewable energy. It lowers our footprint and improves our earthquake resilience.
  • Low-carbon hosting: 88% of our hosting brands are now verified by the Green Web Foundation, up from 71% last year. That figure is separate from our overall renewable energy use, which sits at 94%.

"We're entering a new era with the BlueAI Platform, our group-wide AI infrastructure, the foundation for scaling impact and business success for team.blue customers. As for many digital businesses, this evolution brings uncomfortable questions to the surface, particularly regarding AI's true environmental impact. But best intentions aren't enough on their own, and we don't yet have the answers we need." Bilal Ahmed, Chief AI and Data Officer, team.blue

Digital Inclusion: diversity, hackathons and volunteering

Digital inclusion means designing for access, and giving communities the tools, skills and training.

  • A multicultural team: We are a proud multicultural team that views our differences as a superpower:  60+ nationalities are represented across the Group, 37% of colleagues identify as women or gender-diverse, and 87% saying they feel able to be their authentic self at work. Diversity of thought is what makes the work better.
  • Largest-ever hackathon: In November, we held our largest-ever hackathon for Product colleagues, bringing teams together to design prototype AI solutions: 181 colleagues, 26 teams, working over the course of the event to co-create ideas that could be integrated into both internal and customer-facing services – our largest hackathon yet and a faster route from idea to working prototype than any roadmap process.
  • Volunteering with Accessiway: Through a new volunteering initiative with Accessiway, piloted with our brands iubenda and register.it, we match our colleagues with specific local non-profits. The pilot has already logged 152 hours of volunteering work across 7 regions in Italy, with 2 brands onboarded and 40 colleagues taking part so far. This is Impact-as-a-Service in practice: local impact, local relationships, delivered by the brands themselves.

"This initiative empowers team.blue colleagues to drive both digital and real-world impact. We're currently piloting this scheme with iubenda and register.it and the feedback has been really positive so far, with interest exceeding available spots. We are now looking to expand this across the Group, empowering every brand to drive meaningful change in their local area." Dajana Gioffrè, Chief Visionary Officer, Accessiway

Digital Trust: governance, open source and local reporting & certification

Ethical, transparent decision-making, with integrity at its core, is the driving force of digital trust at team.blue.

  • Board and governance: Our Board diversity stands at 30% non-male representation, meeting our 2030 goal already. ESG is now a standing item on the Board agenda every month, against on original commitment of four times a year, which keeps the topic where the decisions are made.
  • Supporting open source: in January 2026, we became an official Gold Sponsor of the PHP Foundation. PHP is one of the world's most widely used programming languages. PHP powers close to 75% of global websites and is embedded across many of our own platforms and products, so the sponsorship is also an investment in the infrastructure we depend on as much as a contribution to the community.
  • Local reporting. While the Group report tracks collective progress, meaningful work happens locally. In 2025, we supported two of our brands, Combell and team.blue UK&IE, to publish their own dedicated local Impact Reports, so they can speak to their own customers, stakeholders and other stakeholders in their market.
  • Local certification: our science-based targets are validated at group level, and we are working towards group-wide B Corp certification. We started small, with a pilot in the UK and Ireland. team.blue UK&IE has now completed it and is a certified B Corp, alongside Kolsquare and Raidboxes in the team.blue family, and Accessiway is next. Certification is a testament on how sustainability practice gets embedded in a local business with support from group — and it is independent evidence that what we promise is real.

"team.blue is a great example of what it looks like when sustainability is genuinely embedded in how a business is — not bolted on." Caroline Lofgren, Chief Sustainability Officer, Hg

What's next for blue.shift

As we enter our fifth year of reporting, the next phase of blue.shift moves from tactical execution to something we can scale. We will refresh our Double Materiality Assessment and recalibrate our targets, not to disclose more, but to make sure the effort sits where it changes something. With CSRD applying to us from FY28, that discipline matters now. Real change needs collaboration. Building on the pilots, we are ready to scale Impact-as-a-Service across our ecosystem, working alongside our local Impactreneurs and external impact partners.

Methodology

This Impact Report shares our sustainability highlights, learnings and future ambitions across 2025-26. Performance against the 2030 Commitments aligns with the calendar year, except where otherwise stated. Progress relating to sustainability initiatives and programmes spans 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, maintaining consistency with previous disclosures. we calculate our scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon footprint every year in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, working with local brands, Group entities and its supply chain. Data quality and accuracy is reviewed formally each year, with our sustainability partner, Seismic, supporting the review of the Group footprint. As we refine our internal processes, some data may reflect updates to previously disclosed information.
